1. General information

The International University is a member of Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM) was established in 2003 and is the first public university in the country to use English entirely as the medium of instruction and internationally standardized curricula.
The International University is one of seven universities nationwide recognized by the Ministry of Education and Training for meeting international quality standards. Currently, the university offers a total of 10 master’s programs, including:

2.2. Eligible candidates

a. Direct admission:

Applicants are individuals who have graduated or have a decision recognizing their graduation at the undergraduate level (or equivalent) in a field relevant to the program they are applying for, and possess the foreign language proficiency as stipulated in the master’s and doctoral admission regulations of the International University. Candidates must belong 1 group below:

– Individuals who have graduated or have a decision recognizing their graduation from a full-time undergraduate program (or equivalent) with a curriculum of 150 credits or more, graduating on time according to the current undergraduate training regulations.

– Individuals who have graduated or have a decision recognizing their graduation from a full-time undergraduate program with honors, having a cumulative GPA of 8.0 or higher (on a scale of 10).

– Individuals who have graduated or have a decision recognizing their graduation as the valedictorian of their field.

– Individuals who have graduated or have a decision recognizing their graduation and have won first, second, or third prizes in student Olympic competitions (awards for student scientific research from the Ministry of Education and Training; Eureka awards, and other national and international scientific and technological awards held domestically and abroad).

The maximum time for direct admission consideration is 24 months from the date of signing the degree or the decision recognizing graduation to the date of applying.

b. Application evaluation

Candidates belong to 1 of the below groups:

– Applicants who have graduated or have a decision recognizing their graduation at the undergraduate level (or equivalent) in a field relevant to the program they are applying for;

– Individuals participating in the BS-MS program from undergraduate to master’s level at the International University;

– Foreigners who have graduated with an undergraduate degree in a field relevant to the program they are applying for and possess foreign language proficiency as stipulated in the master’s and doctoral admission regulations of the International University;

3. English language requirement

Candidates are exempt from the Entrance English test if they meet the foreign language proficiency requirements evidenced by one of the following diplomas or certificates:

– A bachelor’s degree or higher obtained from a full-time program abroad where the language of instruction is English; or a bachelor’s degree or higher majoring in English linguistics; or a bachelor’s degree or higher where the curriculum is taught in English;

– One of the English certificates with a minimum level of 3 or 4 according to the 6-level Foreign Language Proficiency Framework used in Vietnam, valid for 2 years from the date of issuance to the date of application, issued by an institution recognized by the Ministry of Education and Training or VNU-HCM:

If candidates graduate from a different field than the master’s program they are applying for, you must attend and complete supplement subjects before applying.

6.2. Admission process

Step 1: Submit the full application package
Step 2: Study supplement subjects (If candidates graduate from a different field than the master’s program they are applying for)
Step 3: Take the Entrance English Test (if candidates do not meet any requirements in section 3 of this page)
Step 4: The Admission Council evaluates applications

7. Admission fee

– Direct admission: 60.000 VND/person

– Application evaluation: 300.000 VND/person

– Entrance English Test fee: 120.000 VND/person

– A short course to prepare for the Entrance English Test (optional): 1.100.000 VND/person

– Supplement subjects fee:

The fee for the Supplement subjects mentioned above is for the maximum number of subjects. Depending on the candidate’s transcript, there will be a corresponding number of subjects and fee accordingly.

Note: The admission fee will not be refunded under any circumstances.

8. Scholarships

Each year, the International University allocates nearly 5 billion VND in scholarships for students and researchers:

– Admission scholarships (25%, 50%, 100%)

– Encouragement scholarships (25% of the semester tuition)

– Scientific research scholarships
